Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited (TTDCL), Government of Tripura, has embarked on a major initiative for the growth of the tourism and hospitality sector in the State of Tripura. The State Institute of Hotel Management is an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in association with the Department of Tourism, Government of Tripura, and is owned by the Society for State Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition. The initiative is implemented by the Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (TTDCL).

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India is the nodal agency for the formulation of national policies and programs and for the coordination of activities of various Central Government Agencies, State Governments/UTs and the Private Sector for the development and promotion of tourism in the country.
